Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science

B.S. Environmental Emphasis

Students have the opportunity to add an area of emphasis to their Chemical Engineering (ChE) degree. In most cases, this does not represent additional hours, but instead directs students towards specific courses that will further their knowledge base in that particular area of study.

The Environmental Emphasis option encourages students to further explore applications of ChE in firms focused on sustainable energy production, remediation of wastes, and analysis of environmental contaminants. This emphasis directs students towards courses offered in the Environmental Engineering program.

Students with this emphasis option may have interest in environmentally-oriented career fields. However, completion of this emphasis does not limit students' opportunities in any one of a wide array of entities hiring Chemical Engineers.
