Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science

B.S. Biomedical Emphasis Overview

Students have the opportunity to add an area of emphasis to their Chemical Engineering (ChE) degree. In most cases, this does not represent additional hours, but instead directs students towards specific courses that will further their knowledge base in that particular area of study.

The Biomedical Emphasis option encourages students to further explore applications of ChE in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical products industries. This emphasis directs students towards cellular biology, biochemistry, physiology, and biologically oriented ChE elective courses.

Students with this emphasis option may have interest in medical and biologically oriented career fields. However, completion of this emphasis does not limit students' opportunities in any one of a wide array of entities hiring Chemical Engineers.
